MY MOTHER BELIEVES MY DEAD UNCLE’S SPIRIT LIVES WITHIN ME

BIBLE STUDY

you call me in june from a gendered bathroom / to undo
your genetic patchwork / & ask me why bad things happen /
at the same time / i say / god is homophobic / that is why
they stole your coat / last night / first it happened to joseph's
gay jacket / full spectrum bathed in blood / then god cried /
three perfect soap opera tears / & ruined the parade /
against all odds / we are woman-bound / sexy
covenant / o chronic miracle / i love you
